Tokenized equities reach $50 billion in Q3 DEX trading volume
Tokenized equities experienced a ninefold increase in trading volume on decentralized exchanges (DEXs) during the third quarter of 2026, reaching $50 billion. This activity accounted for approximately 9% of total spot DEX volume, up from 1% in the previous quarter. Total spot DEX volume rose 13% to $571 billion, marking its first quarterly increase in several months.
BNB Chain led the sector with $16.5 billion in tokenized-equity trading, followed by Robinhood Chain with $13.7 billion and Solana with $6.9 billion. At the asset level, NVIDIA (NVDA) recorded approximately $3.1 billion in trading, while the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) followed with $2.5 billion. Other notable assets included AMC Entertainment Holdings and GameStop, each recording roughly $700 million.
On the regulatory front, the SEC issued temporary, conditional exemptions on September 17 for certain Tokenized Securities Venues (TSVs) and liquidity providers. This measure allows qualifying venues to trade eligible tokenized NMS stocks within permissioned environments.
