Toki Air targets corporate travel and crowdfunding to stabilize demand
Niigata-based regional airline Toki Air is implementing new strategies to stabilize demand and improve its financial position following two consecutive years of insolvency. To combat seasonal fluctuations, particularly during the winter months, the company is focusing on capturing corporate travel demand through specialized services, including 24/7 online booking and deferred payment options for businesses.
Toki Air is also targeting inbound tourism by seeking partnerships with international airlines to facilitate transfers to its domestic routes. The company has expressed interest in future codeshare agreements and is currently coordinating efforts with Taiwanese entities.
To bolster its business foundation, Toki Air has launched a crowdfunding campaign on the CAMPFIRE platform titled ‘Are you buying part of Toki Air? Let’s complete one aircraft together!’ The campaign aims to raise 10 million yen by October 31. Supporters can become ‘Part Owners’ of various aircraft components, such as windows, seats, propellers, or engines, with contribution levels ranging from 15,000 yen to 2.9 million yen. These funds will be used to strengthen the company’s operational base and promote its regional routes.
