TOKİ announces 25 percent discount for housing debt repayment
The Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKİ) has announced a major discount campaign for approximately 228,000 housing and workplace owners. Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum stated that individuals who pay off their remaining debt in full will receive a 25 percent discount.
For those unable to settle the entire balance, a partial payment option is available: paying at least 25 percent of the remaining debt will grant a 25 percent discount on the amount paid. The campaign is scheduled to run from September 22 to October 19, 2026. To qualify, sales must have been completed by the end of June 2025, and installment payments must have commenced by the same period. Borrowers with 12 months or fewer remaining installments are excluded from this offer.
In related urban development news, Minister Kurum also participated in a lottery ceremony for 1,642 independent units in Istanbul, covering areas such as Zeytinburnu, Maltepe, and Gaziosmanpaşa. Additionally, Bandırma Municipality is auctioning 25 properties, including several high-value plots in the 600 Evler neighborhood, with total estimated values reaching millions of liras.
