TOKİ completes 83,504 social housing units in nine months

The Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKİ) has completed the construction of 83,504 social housing units across 58 cities during the first nine months of 2026. These projects, managed under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, aim to provide accessible housing for low and middle-income citizens.

Monthly production data shows a significant increase in completions during the summer months, with July, August, and September seeing particularly high numbers. This follows the previous delivery of 455,357 independent units to earthquake zone beneficiaries in late 2025.

In Istanbul, TOKİ is moving forward with a rental social housing project involving 1,071 units across 12 districts. Following the application deadline on September 25, 2026, the lottery to determine tenants is expected to take place in October. Applicants can monitor their status via the e-Devlet portal.
