TOKİ social housing lottery expected in Istanbul this October

The Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKİ) is preparing to conduct a lottery this October to determine the beneficiaries of a social rental housing project in Istanbul. The project involves a total of 1,071 rental units distributed across several districts.

According to the distribution plan, 360 units are allocated to Başakşehir, Gaziosmanpaşa, Beyoğlu, and Güngören; 330 units to Maltepe, Tuzla, and Kartal; 291 units to Ataşehir, Sancaktepe, Ümraniye, and Üsküdar; and 90 units to Arnavutköy. Housing types range from 1+1 to 4+1 to accommodate different family structures.

Monthly rent prices are expected to start at 10,000 Turkish Liras. Under the project terms, rent increases are prohibited for the first 12 months, after which adjustments will follow the Consumer Price Index (TÜFE). The rental period is limited to a maximum of three years, and tenants must vacate the premises if they purchase a home during this period. The lottery will be conducted digitally via the e-Devlet system.
