Tokyo cultural events: Edo Daikagura and theatrical revival announced

Several cultural performances are scheduled in Tokyo. The 28th Edo Daikagura gathering, aimed at preserving the Tokyo intangible folk cultural property, will take place on December 3, 2026, at Bunkyo Civic Hall. Led by the 13th head, Maruichi Sen-o, the performance will feature traditional acrobatics and lion dances.

Additionally, Tom Project has announced a revival of the play ‘Hozuki-cho Hozuki-dori San-chome’ at the Kameido Cultural Center Camellia Hall. The production, set in 1946 Hakata, is scheduled for January 20–21, 2027. The play features a cast including Mikiko Otonashi and Ami Arimori, directed by Kenji Higashi.
