Tokyo Disneyland to open Wreck-It Ralph attraction in April 2027

Tokyo Disneyland has announced that “Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue,” the world’s first attraction based on Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph, will officially open on April 15, 2027. The new interactive dark ride will be located in Tomorrowland, replacing the existing Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters.

In the attraction, guests will board rotating vehicles equipped with scanners and laser shooters to defend the Sugar Rush game world from King Candy. Riders will work alongside characters Ralph and Vanellope to transform “Sugar Bugs”—glitches created by King Candy—back into their original candy forms. Scores earned during the ride can be viewed on vehicle displays and via the Tokyo Disney Resort app.

The expansion includes several supporting features: a new retail space called “Pixel Prism” will open on the launch date, and a popcorn stand named “Popping Station” is scheduled to debut on March 17, 2027. To build anticipation, the park will host pre-opening programs including smartphone mini-games starting January 12, 2027, Tomorrowland decorations in February, and projection mapping on Cinderella Castle beginning March 18.
