The OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026 saw a 1.6-fold increase in attendance compared to the previous year, drawing 7,246 visitors. The event featured over 150 indie game titles and facilitated business matching between developers and publishers. It also included collaborations with the Kinki Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry to discuss fostering new game IPs in the Kansai region.

Meanwhile, Tokyo Game Show 2026 attracted over 250,000 visitors across four days, despite the cancellation of its final day due to a typhoon. The event featured 1,138 exhibitors from 53 countries and regions. Highlights included previews of titles such as Persona 4 Revival and various cosplay displays.
