Tokyo launches cancer screening incentives and awareness campaigns
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is launching several initiatives to promote cervical and breast cancer screenings. Under the “TOKYO Women's Health” project, residents who undergo these screenings can receive health-related goods or Tokyo Points valued at approximately 2,000 yen. Applications for this incentive program are open from October 1, 2026, through February 28, 2027.
Eligible participants include women aged 20 and older for cervical cancer screenings and women aged 40 and older for breast cancer screenings, provided they reside in Tokyo. Available rewards include items such as digital thermo-hygrometers, electric toothbrushes, and various household goods.
In conjunction with these efforts, the “Pink Ribbon in Tokyo 2026” campaign is being held to raise awareness. As part of this campaign, Ariake Garden will participate by lighting up its atrium deck in pink on various dates throughout October. The illumination and digital signage are intended to provide correct knowledge regarding breast cancer and emphasize the importance of regular screenings.
