Tokyo launches centralized ‘Tokyo Map’ platform

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and GovTech Tokyo have released the official version of ‘Tokyo Map’, a centralized website designed to consolidate various mapping information previously scattered across different departmental websites.

The platform integrates 10 different types of map data, including information on disaster prevention, environmental issues, digital services, welfare, and water supply. Users can overlay multiple map layers or select pre-set themes to view related information simultaneously. For example, a heatstroke prevention theme combines heat maps, green space maps, and locations for drinking water stations. Other themes include earthquake preparedness and flood risk management, which aggregate data on damage estimates, free Wi-Fi locations, and emergency water supply stations.

The service is free to use and accessible via web browsers on both computers and smartphones.
