Tokyo launches series of AI‑focused cyber‑security seminars for small businesses

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced a series of free seminars for small‑business owners to address the growing threat of AI‑driven cyber attacks. The events are part of the Small Business Cyber‑Security Basic Measures Project and will be held online and in‑person.

The first session, on July 7, will feature Yoshiyasu Nakayama of Check Point Software Technologies discussing how generative AI is changing cyber‑attack tactics. The second session, on July 28, will be led by Toshiyuki Shimizu of Microsoft Japan, explaining why small firms are targeted and what safeguards are needed. A third session on August 4 will include white‑hat hacker Shin‑to Kitagawa of Leon Technology, illustrating real‑world examples of AI‑enhanced attacks. Each seminar is free, with a capacity of 20 on‑site participants and up to 100 online attendees.
