Tokyo police investigate series of suspicious fires in Adachi Ward

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a series of suspicious fires in Adachi Ward, Tokyo, which may be linked to serial arson.

Since late August, at least six suspicious fires have been reported in the area. In the most recent incident, which occurred around 5:00 AM in Chuo-honcho, the exterior wall of a two-story wooden residence caught fire, resulting in minor burns to a female resident. Witnesses reported seeing items such as plastic tanks melting due to the heat, and one resident noted that a fire was set around 3:00 AM.
