Tokyo Resi Stars to join BC League in 2027

The Tokyo Resi Stars have officially been confirmed to join the Route Inn BC League starting with the 2027 season. This marks the first time in the 21-year history of the league that a team will be based in Tokyo.

Former NPB player Hironori Suguro has been appointed as the team’s inaugural manager. Suguro brings extensive experience from his playing career with the Yomiuri Giants, Orix BlueWave, and Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes, as well as coaching roles in both NPB and independent leagues.

The club aims to focus on player development and regional revitalization. The roadmap for the team includes holding tryouts in the autumn of 2026, beginning player contracts in the winter of 2026, and officially launching the team in the spring of 2027.
