Tokyo Riksha reaches number one on Oricon weekly charts

The performance unit Tokyo Riksha, composed of active rickshaw pullers from Asakusa, has secured the number one spot on the Oricon Weekly Enka/Kayou Single Ranking with their new song, ‘Yusha no Wadachi’. This achievement marks the group's seventh consecutive number one single in this category.

Released on August 26, the song was written by Shinichi Ishihara and composed by Koji Tokuku. The track conveys a message of resilience and moving forward despite personal struggles. During the release week, the group operated as a duo consisting of Yuichi Tai and Issei Shirakami while leader Takuya Ishibashi was on a temporary hiatus.

Following the single's success, it has been announced that Ishibashi resumed his activities on September 1, returning the group to its full three-member lineup.
