Tokyo Station to Nikko Edomura direct bus service to launch

KKday, Jidaimura, and Goryo Bus have announced the launch of the ‘Yaesu Nikko Line,’ a direct express bus service connecting Tokyo Station (via the Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu) to Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura. The service is scheduled to begin operations on September 19, 2026, and run through November 30, 2026.

This new route aims to eliminate the ‘transfer barrier’ that previously required travelers to switch between multiple trains and local buses to reach the theme park. The direct bus will take approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes. One round trip will operate daily, departing Tokyo at 8:00 AM and returning from Nikko Edomura at 4:00 PM. Fares are set at 4,000 yen for adults and 2,000 yen for children.

The initiative responds to rising demand for Japanese historical and cultural experiences among international tourists. The partners intend for this route to serve as a first step toward improving broader accessibility to the Nikko area, potentially attracting travelers using the Japan Rail Pass.
