Tokyo to host major design and art festivals in autumn 2026

Tokyo is set to host a series of major design and art events in the autumn of 2026, centered around the Roppongi district and Tokyo Midtown.

Tokyo Midtown will host ‘TOKYO MIDTOWN DESIGN LIVE 2026’ from October 16 to November 4. This festival will feature various exhibitions, performances, and interactive content. It will run alongside other large-scale events including ‘DESIGNART TOKYO 2026’, ‘Roppongi Art Night 2026’, ‘ARTE TOKYO’, and the ‘G Exhibition’ showcasing Good Design Award winners. Notably, ‘Roppongi Art Night 2026’ will see the return of all-night programming after a three-year hiatus.

Specific exhibitions include a project at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT titled ‘Learning from Hojoki’, which explores modern living through the lens of classical architecture, and a JAXA-related project exploring the possibilities of fabric design.

Additionally, the ‘CREATORS EDGE 2026’ event is scheduled for September 29 at TODA HALL & CONFERENCE TOKYO. Organized by Video Salon and Commercial Photo, the event will feature workshops and a lottery for attendees to win products from DJI, including wireless microphones and branded merchandise.
