Tokyo to host major manga art exhibitions for Yu-Gi-Oh! and Bonobono

Two major manga anniversary exhibitions are scheduled to take place in Tokyo in 2026 and 2027.

The “Yu-Gi-Oh! Art Works” exhibition, celebrating the upcoming 30th anniversary of the original manga, will run from December 12, 2026, to February 21, 2027, at Creative Museum Tokyo. The event will feature over 370 original manuscripts, color illustrations, character designs, and monster battle drafts. The exhibition is organized into five themed zones, including sections dedicated to character design, game design, and the series' narrative progression.

Additionally, the “Bonobono Exhibition: 40 Years of History” will be held from August 27 to September 27, 2026, at the Tokyo Anime Center in Shibuya. This event commemorates the 40th anniversary of the manga serialization and the 10th anniversary of its TV anime adaptation. The exhibition will display cover art, original four-panel manga manuscripts, and animation production materials, alongside a newly commissioned large-scale illustration by creator Mikio Igarashi.
