Tokyo to host manga and anime pop-up stores in October 2026

Several pop-up retail events are scheduled in Tokyo for October 2026, focusing on popular manga and anime franchises.

To celebrate Yoshihiro Takahashi’s 55th anniversary in manga and the 50th anniversary of ‘Shiroi Senshi Yamato’, a ‘Ginga Densetsu Series POP UP STORE’ will be held in Harajuku from October 10 to October 12, 2026. The event features exhibits of original manuscript drafts and rare merchandise. A reception held on October 9 included appearances by manga creators Tetsuo Hara and Buronson. Official goods, including collaboration T-shirts and signed reproduction prints, will be available at the venue and online via the fantech STORE starting October 10.

Additionally, Bandai Namco Filmworks will host a ‘Maebashi Witches’ POP UP SHOP at the Tokyo Anime Center in Shibuya from October 23 to November 8, 2026. The shop will sell original merchandise featuring new illustrations of characters in ‘jersey-maid’ outfits. This event coincides with the scheduled release of the ‘Maebashi Witches’ theatrical film on October 23, 2026.
