Tokyo to open robot arena featuring three-meter combat suits
A new attraction called Robot Park Odaiba is scheduled to open on October 15, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan. Located on the sixth floor of the Aqua City Odaiba entertainment complex, the park allows visitors to pilot nearly three-meter-tall combat robots.
Developed by the Japanese company Skeletonics, these machines function as large mechanical suits that amplify the movements of the person inside. Rather than being autonomous, the robots respond directly to the user's arm and leg motions. During duels, sensors track successful hits and display remaining energy levels on a screen, mimicking video game mechanics.
In addition to the main duels, which include special attacks and spectator interaction via special devices, the park offers a ‘Robot Ride’ where visitors can operate large machines to swing swords or throw balls. Other activities include combat with soft swords using motion-sensing technology.
