Tokyo transit hubs to host new bakery and coffee confectionery outlets

Several new food and beverage retail concepts are scheduled to open at major Tokyo transit hubs in September 2026.

Kobeya will launch ‘THE STAND BY KOBEYA’ at Tobu Ikebukuro Station on September 18, 2026. Located within the station's central gate area, this quick-service bakery is designed for busy professionals. The shop will offer approximately 30 types of bread, including a signature croissant made with homemade starter, and will feature a cashless payment system and expanded standing space for customers.

Additionally, BAKE INC. will debut its new coffee confectionery brand, ‘A Bite Coffee,’ at Gransta Tokyo within JR Tokyo Station on September 16, 2026. The brand focuses on ‘LightRich’ concepts, offering products such as coffee cookies and baked chocolate cookies designed to pair the aroma of coffee with the lightness of sweets. The store design is inspired by coffee roaster ducts.
