Tokyo University of the Arts hosts stone carving workshops and design showcases

Students and researchers at Tokyo University of the Arts are engaging in various creative and educational activities. As part of a summer camp organized by Musashino Gakugei College, students in an art and design course participated in stone carving workshops. Using tools such as chisels, wooden hammers, and electric carving machines, students worked to transform stone into three-dimensional sculptures while learning safety protocols.

Additionally, nodeko, a graduate student in the Design Department at Tokyo University of the Arts, has developed original masking tape designs featuring watercolor and oil pastel motifs. These products, which include ‘THANK YOU’ and ‘FOR YOU’ messaging, are scheduled to be sold at the Geisai art market held at the university in September 2026.
