Tokyo University of the Arts to host architecture and urbanism exhibition

Tokyo University of the Arts will host an exhibition titled ‘After the Future City—Alayavijnana and Demiurge’ and ‘Architecture as Ecopolitics’ from May 29 to June 7, 2026. Organized by the Fujimura Laboratory, the event aims to re-examine the concept of the ‘future city’ following the 2025 Osaka/Kansai Expo.

The exhibition is divided into two main sections. The art exhibition explores the relationship between the unconscious environment that forms a city and the creative subjects intervening within it through art, literature, and digital environments. The architecture exhibition focuses on the material foundations of modern architecture, examining materials, resources, distribution, and geopolitical risks.

Various artists and architects are scheduled to participate, and the event will include several talk sessions and an opening reception.
