Tokyo's acosta! cosplay event showcases top Japanese cosplayers

From May 5 to May 10, the acosta! cosplay festival was held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City in Tokyo. The event operated as a Golden‑Week special concept week, dividing each day into themes such as student‑only, 25‑plus, cross‑dressing and all‑genre, and limiting attendance to about 30 % of normal capacity. Organisers reported a more relaxed atmosphere compared with the normally crowded convention.

The lineup featured a wide range of popular characters, including an “アイカツ!” star, “にじさんじ” member 石神のぞみ, characters from “エヴァ”, “原神”, “崩壊スターレイル”, “東方Project” and other anime and game titles. Photo reports highlighted the detailed costuming and styling of the participating cosplayers, many of whom were highlighted as top performers of the weekend.

The coverage also included promotional links to related merchandise and noted that several cosplayers are also involved in related creative work such as costume rental services and illustration.
