Tokyu trains undergo modifications for potential Seibu Railway transfer
Tokyu Corporation is undergoing modifications to its rolling stock in preparation for transfers to Seibu Railway. A Tokyu 9000 series train (9009F) recently left the Nagatsuta Depot after being reduced to a four-car formation by removing one intermediate car (DeHa 9409). Modifications observed include the installation of semi-automatic doors and the replacement of skirts.
Parallel developments have been noted with the Tokyu 9020 series (9023F). This set was recently observed at the Nagatsuta Depot with one intermediate car (DeHa 9223) removed, leaving a four-car formation. While the 9000 series has already been transferred to Seibu to be repurposed as the 7000 series, there has been no official announcement regarding the transfer of the 9020 series. However, the pattern of reducing car counts suggests a potential continuation of the rolling stock transition between the two companies.
