Toledo launches family Camino de Santiago program for 2026

The Diputación de Toledo has opened registration for the fourth edition of the "Camino de Santiago en Familia" program. The six‑day, five‑night itinerary follows the Portuguese Way of the Camino from 31 August to 5 September 2026 and is aimed at promoting family cohesion, healthy habits and cultural heritage.

The programme offers 50 places for adults and children aged 10 years or older at a cost of 80 euros per participant. The fee includes bus transport to the start point, accommodation in two hotel complexes (two nights in A Guarda and three nights in Padrón), half‑board meals, accident insurance, all scheduled activities and supervision by monitors.

Applications are accepted from 27 July to 14 August 2026 and can be submitted at the Diputación’s registration office or through its electronic portal. Allocation of places will be based on criteria such as geographic location, family income, large‑family status, first‑time participation and, in case of ties, the order of submission. Deputy Daniel Arias, responsible for Social Welfare, Family and Youth, highlighted that the Camino is “more than a route; it is an opportunity to strengthen family bonds and share unforgettable experiences.”
