Toledo police arrest former manager for R$ 681,000 fraud
Civil Police in Toledo, Paraná, have arrested a 36-year-old man suspected of embezzling approximately R$ 681,000 through two distinct fraudulent schemes.
In the first scheme, which occurred at a motorcycle dealership, the suspect allegedly diverted R$ 370,000 between April and July. He reportedly instructed customers to make down payments via Pix directly to his personal bank account or through his own credit card machine. At least ten people were victims, with one individual losing R$ 200,000. He is also accused of stealing a company notebook.
The second scheme involved his time as a manager for a contractor of the Companhia Paranaense de Energia (Copel). During this period, he allegedly caused R$ 311,000 in losses by altering utility account ownership and marking electricity bills as paid in the system for family members and associates without actual payment. Copel stated it reported the matter to authorities upon discovery.
