Toledo police arrest two suspects after couple's kidnapping

Two suspects were arrested by the Military Police in Toledo, Paraná, following the kidnapping of a man and his girlfriend on a Friday night. The victims were reportedly approached at a bar by a group of four individuals, one of whom was armed.

The kidnappers forced the couple into a vehicle, stating they would be taken for a “tribunal do crime” (crime tribunal). During the transit, the man managed to escape by jumping from the moving vehicle after a physical struggle with the occupants. His girlfriend remained in the car.

Police located the vehicle at a residence in the Jardim Europa neighborhood, where they apprehended two suspects. The detainees claimed they had left the woman at a nearby bar, but they did not provide information regarding the other two involved individuals. Authorities seized two mobile phones for forensic analysis, though the weapon and the remaining suspects were not found.
