Spain local governments face maintenance and administrative disputes

Various local government issues and environmental management actions are being reported across Spain. In Valencia de Don Juan, the PSOE has requested explanations regarding a paving project for the Vía Verde and criticized the maintenance of local parks and green spaces.

In Ponferrada, the PSOE has alleged irregularities in a minor works contract, claiming a winning bid was submitted before the official request was made. Additionally, the party has criticized the delay in constructing a new health center.

In Albacete, the PSOE has denounced the deterioration and abandonment of the Congress Palace, citing structural deficiencies and bureaucratic delays. In Toledo, the PSOE demanded answers following a large tree fall and noted that the Environmental Council has not met for 318 days.

In Breña Baja, the local government has called for the resignation of a PSOE councilwoman following allegations of threats toward municipal staff. In Tenerife, Aqualia has filed a complaint following a ferric chloride spill at the Punta Brava treatment plant, suggesting potential intentional damage.

Environmental efforts include Egemasa's upcoming work to remove invasive reeds from the Genil River, and the Junta de Andalucía's emergency works in the Pata del Caballo forest to mitigate the effects of a recent wildfire.
