Toledo supermarket postpones 60% of owed worker salaries

The supermarket chain Toledo has announced it will postpone the payment of 60% of the salaries owed to its workers. The company notified employees that the outstanding balance will not be paid until August 18.

The Sindicato de Empleados de Comercio (SEC) has categorically rejected this delay, demanding the immediate and total liquidation of all owed wages. The union emphasized that workers have already completed their shifts and noted that current economic conditions do not allow for such delays in family income.

In response to the company's decision, the union has announced the continuation and intensification of assemblies at various branches and workplaces. There is growing uncertainty regarding whether these labor tensions will lead to a total paralysis of customer service in the coming days.
