Toledo woman seeks refuge in church to escape husband with knife

A woman sought refuge in a church in Toledo, Paraná, to escape her husband, who was pursuing her with a knife. According to the Military Police, the incident occurred after the man, who had been consuming alcohol, became aggressive following an argument and attempted to strike the woman.

Witnesses reported that the man initially entered the temple but was prevented from approaching the victim. He briefly left, returned by car, and attempted to enter again, but was blocked by closed doors. A Rural Patrol unit arrived at the scene and detained the man after he complied with orders to drop the weapon. Both individuals were taken to the 20th Police Subdivision for legal proceedings.
