Tolfa hosts 36th Regional Butteri Horse Tournament

The town of Tolfa in Lazio will stage the 36th Rural Butteri Tournament on 1 August, followed by the 56th Regional tournament on 2 August at the Polo Fieristico “La Nocchia”. Organisers have prepared parking, restrooms and food stalls for visitors, with the event highlighted by a blessing of the competition flags performed by local officials.

University Agraria president Bruno Vecchioni, Pro Loco president Giuseppina Esposito and Mayor Stefania Bentivoglio coordinated rapidly to rebuild the arena fences and ready the equestrian field, assisted by Italo Ciambella. The themes this year are “La Rocca, symbol of protection for the people of Tolfa” for the rural race and “Tolfa‑Cappuccini Church, 800 years since St Francis of Assisi’s death” for the regional race. The competition will start at 17:00 and is supported by the local Motoclub Rugged, which maintains the venue.
