Tolhuin opens applications for Youth Climate Action Fund

The Municipality of Tolhuin, through its Directorate of Sustainable Development and Environment, has announced the third round of the Youth Climate Action Fund. Supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, the initiative is open to young people aged 15 to 24 who wish to implement projects related to environmental care and local responses to climate change.

Applications are being accepted until September 30. The fund provides financing ranging from USD 1,000 to USD 5,000 per project. Eligible applicants include youth groups, collectives, clubs, organizations, and educational institutions. Individual participation is permitted in groups of at least three people.

Proposed projects should focus on local environmental issues, such as environmental education, waste reduction, circular economy, climate change adaptation, and the protection of natural spaces. The municipality offers guidance to help participants transform initial ideas into concrete actions.
