Tolhuin residents await approval of land survey plans
Residents of the Altos de la Laguna neighborhood in Tolhuin are facing ongoing delays in the approval of land survey plans by the provincial Cadastre office. More than 700 lots are currently affected by the lack of official documentation, which prevents residents from obtaining property titles, assigning house numbers, and identifying streets.
César Mugnier, a local resident, reported that municipal land official Laura Flores confirmed the plans are once again in a correction phase. Residents expressed frustration over the lack of transparency regarding the specific observations made by authorities and the timeline for resolution. While municipal officials previously suggested the situation was temporary and would be resolved within three months, the process remains stalled.
The absence of approved plans also limits the community's ability to demand urban infrastructure improvements, as residents currently lack the formal status required to request municipal services such as street repairs.
