Tolhuin seeks energy and infrastructure project funding

Officials in Tolhuin are seeking to advance infrastructure and energy projects through national agencies. Provincial legislator Gisela Dos Santos and National Senator Agustín Coto met at the National Senate to discuss development initiatives, focusing on energy infrastructure, project financing, and the expansion of essential services.

A primary focus of the discussions is the energy situation in Tolhuin, specifically a project to expand the gas plant that supplies the local system. This initiative, presented to the Fondo para la Ampliación de la Matriz Productiva Fueguina (FAMP), involves an investment exceeding 5 million dollars. The expansion is considered vital to support the city's growth, as energy availability is a key factor for new industrial investments and productive ventures.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the status of various public and private projects submitted to FAMP. Officials aim to coordinate with new agency authorities to secure financing and monitor progress. The agenda also included the current state of natural gas services and the need for network expansions to meet rising residential and productive demand.
