Tolima International Coffee Fair targets $7 billion pesos in economic impact

The IV International Coffee Fair, ‘Tolima, Corazón Cafetero de Colombia’, is underway in Chaparral, aiming to generate over $7 billion pesos in economic impact. The event expects to host approximately 15,000 attendees and 50 international buyers to promote regional coffee production.

A key highlight is the hybrid international auction, featuring 30 in-person and over 20 virtual buyers. Additionally, the departmental microlotes competition has announced its finalists, showcasing high-quality specialty coffees from various territories within Tolima, including producers from Planadas, Ortega, and Chaparral.

In the Cauca department, the coffee sector has concluded its democratic electoral process for the 2026-2030 period. A total of 26,923 producers participated, achieving a 63.06% turnout to elect new representatives for the Departmental Coffee Committee across six constituencies.
