Tollywood Stars' Injuries Disrupt Film Production and Budgets
Several leading Tollywood actors have suffered serious injuries on set. Ram Charan was hospitalized in Coimbatore after a wrist injury, while Nandamuri Balakrishna required knee surgery following a stunt accident in Kakinada. Jr NTR sustained a shoulder injury that halted filming of "Dragon" and led to the cancellation of a planned Sri Lanka shoot. Actress Rashmika Mandanna suffered a complete tendon detachment in her hip during a dance sequence, prompting six weeks of rest. Pawan Kalyan also underwent shoulder surgery.
The injuries have forced production delays and increased costs. Director Prashanth Neel paused "Dragon" and the film’s budget, originally around Rs 350 crore, could rise by 10‑15 percent due to rescheduling and additional medical expenses. Other projects have been postponed, affecting shooting schedules across Hyderabad and Mumbai.
