La Plata residents demand security after arson and robberies

Residents in the Tolosa and Los Hornos neighborhoods of La Plata are expressing growing fear due to a surge in violent crime and insecurity. In Los Hornos, neighbors have organized protests to demand increased police presence and more patrol cars following a series of robberies, home invasions, and attacks by criminals on motorcycles.

In a separate incident in Tolosa, a hooded individual attempted to set fire to a parked car using gasoline. The fire spread rapidly, destroying three vehicles in the area. Security footage captured the moment the suspect nearly caught fire himself before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle with an accomplice.

Additionally, residents in Los Hornos have reported environmental hazards caused by the intentional burning of accumulated trash due to inadequate waste collection services, creating toxic smoke and fire risks near residential homes.
