Tolu Arokodare cleared for Ajax debut in UEFA Conference League

Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has been registered by UEFA and is eligible to make his competitive debut for AFC Ajax in the UEFA Europa Conference League third‑qualifying round against Shelbourne. The 25‑year‑old arrived on a season‑long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Ajax securing an option to sign him permanently after the 2026‑27 season. Arokodare missed Ajax’s previous qualifier versus Vojvodina because his transfer was completed too late for registration, but the UEFA approval removes that restriction.

He previously scored six goals for Wolves and was the Belgian Pro League’s top scorer with KRC Genk. Standing 1.97 m tall, he offers aerial strength and a traditional centre‑forward profile. He already netted in an unofficial Ajax friendly, raising expectations ahead of the Thursday match with Shelbourne.
