Tolu Arokodare finds early success on loan at Ajax
Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has made a strong start following his loan move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Ajax. After struggling to find form in the Premier League, where he recorded three goals and one assist in 33 appearances, the former Genk Golden Boot winner has found immediate success in the Netherlands.
In his first seven appearances for Ajax, Arokodare has recorded seven goal contributions—five goals and two assists—in just 281 minutes of play. This averages to one goal involvement approximately every 40 minutes. His scoring has come across both the Eredivisie and the Conference League qualifying rounds.
Despite the productive start, former Netherlands striker Wim Kieft has urged caution. While acknowledging Arokodare’s physical strengths as a strong target man effective in the air, Kieft questioned whether the striker can maintain this level when tested at a higher European level.
