Tolu Arokodare honors injured Kasper Dolberg after scoring for Ajax

Ajax forward Tolu Arokodare dedicated his seventh goal of the season to teammate Kasper Dolberg, who is sidelined with a serious knee injury. During a home match against NEC, Arokodare scored a header in the seventh minute to give Ajax an early lead.

Following the goal, Arokodare held up Dolberg’s number nine shirt as a tribute to his injured teammate. Arokodare noted that the gesture was inspired by fellow Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, who had previously performed a similar tribute to Mauro Icardi after an ACL injury. Arokodare credited Osimhen for the idea, stating, “I wanted to do something like this. Actually, it wasn’t my own idea; Osimhen told me, ‘You should do something like this,’ and I did it.”
