Toluca and Otzolotepec residents demand Las Partidas Avenue repairs
Residents living on the borders of Toluca and Otzolotepec are demanding the comprehensive rehabilitation and paving of Las Partidas Avenue. The area, specifically near the Cruz de Cajones landmark, is reported to be in a state of disrepair, characterized by numerous potholes and dangerous road conditions.
Local inhabitants have highlighted significant safety risks, including a curve lacking retaining walls or warning signage. The area is frequently used by heavy cargo trucks and buses, which has contributed to the deterioration of the pavement. Additionally, the open channel of the Verdiguel River has caused flooding in nearby homes, such as those in the Villa Santín housing development, following recent heavy rains. Residents are calling on the municipal governments of both jurisdictions to coordinate a project to address both road safety and flood prevention.
