Toluca approves fee waivers for Alfeñique and Enchilada fair participants
The Toluca City Council has unanimously approved a waiver of fees for the use of public roads and areas for commercial activities. This measure benefits artisans participating in the 2026 Alfeñique Fair and Festival, as well as merchants involved in the Enchilada Fair in San Buenaventura.
Mayor Ricardo Moreno presented the agreement following requests from the Enchilada Fair representatives and the Union of Alfeñique Artisans and Regional Sweets of Toluca. The initiative aims to strengthen local traditions, identity, and economic activity within the capital.
Regarding the Alfeñique Festival, the Mayor noted that musical performances will be organized through existing agreements with music groups to minimize direct municipal costs. Additionally, the council authorized a national rock concert and a dance in San Pablo Autopan, subject to security and legality requirements.
