Toluca certifies municipal cabinet in gender perspective standard

The municipality of Toluca has become one of the first to certify its entire cabinet in the EC0779 Competency Standard, which focuses on the mainstreaming of a gender perspective in municipal public administration.

As part of initiatives led by the Municipal Institute for Women of Toluca, 18 heads of General Directorates, including the Municipal President, along with 22 employees from various departments, successfully completed the accreditation. This action utilizes resources allocated to address the Declaration of Gender Violence Alert due to Femicide.

The EC0779 standard provides criteria for identifying gender inequalities within the municipal scope and developing institutional strategies aimed at substantive equality. The goal is to integrate this perspective into all policies, programs, budgets, and institutional processes to ensure a more inclusive administration and a culture based on non-discrimination and human rights.
