Toluca Fire Department acquires specialized aerial ladder truck
The Heroico Cuerpo de Bomberos de Toluca has acquired a specialized aerial ladder truck, making the city one of only two locations in Mexico to possess such equipment, the other being held by the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (Sedena).
The vehicle features a 100-foot (over 30 meters) ladder, capable of reaching the height of approximately a 10-story building. It is equipped with a monitor at the top of the ladder to direct water for firefighting from elevated positions. The truck weighs approximately 45 tons and has a water capacity of 2,500 liters. Its basket can transport up to six people and can be operated from either the platform or controls at the base.
A team of nine trained personnel per shift operates the unit. The truck has already been deployed for various emergencies, including a warehouse fire in the Terminal area, drone and feline rescues, and maintenance work on the Vicente Guerrero bridge.
