Toluca Industrial Park workers identified in forced dismissal scheme
Inspectors from the State of Mexico Labor Secretariat have identified a scheme involving forced dismissals at the Toluca 2000 Industrial Park. The pattern involves workers frequently changing jobs to provoke terminations, allowing them to claim severance or liquidation payments.
Omar Mañón Juárez, director general of Inspection and Labor Inclusion, reported that some individuals would work for approximately 15 days before engaging in behaviors designed to get them fired. Once they secured their settlement, they would move to another company to repeat the process. The secretariat also noted that these individuals often filed labor complaints to trigger inspections, a tactic used to facilitate the fraudulent claims. Authorities are now coordinating with the industrial park administration to monitor and address these recurring incidents.
