Toluca launches 2026 Feria del Alfeñique festival
The city of Toluca has launched the 2026 Festival and Feria del Alfeñique, a cultural celebration running from October 4 to November 1. Mayor Ricardo Moreno Bastida announced that the event will feature over 1,200 activities, including musical performances by artists such as Caifanes, Los Ángeles Azules, and Los Tigres del Norte.
The festival highlights regional traditions related to the Day of the Dead, offering visitors the opportunity to purchase traditional alfeñique figures, sugar skulls, and regional sweets. The program includes parades, nocturnal city tours, and various cultural offerings designed for all age groups.
As part of the festival's programming, the Feria de la Enchilada has commenced in the San Buenaventura district. This gastronomic event celebrates local culinary identity and supports the regional economy, providing over 200 direct jobs through the sale of artisanal enchiladas.
