Toluca launches 2026 Feria del Carmen with month‑long religious celebrations
The traditional Feria del Carmen 2026 began in Toluca on 1 July and will run throughout the month. Starting July 3, pilgrimages by the Cofradía, the Order of the Lay and the Knights of the Divine Lord of Miracles visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel daily, joined by parishes and neighborhoods.
A novena is scheduled for 7–14 July, followed by a mass led by Archbishop Raúl Gómez González on 15 July. The main day of the festivities is 16 July, marked by early‑morning Mañanitas and continuous masses. An octava runs from 17–26 July, culminating in the solemn descent of the image on 18 July and the traditional paseo of the Virgin through the streets surrounding the sanctuary on 26 July, which concludes the 2026 edition.
The programme also includes first communions, a kermés on 5 July, and various community activities throughout the month, drawing thousands of faithful from Toluca and neighboring municipalities.
