Toluca Mayor Ricardo Moreno opens Casa Alef free mental health center

Toluca Mayor Ricardo Moreno inaugurated the Casa Alef Psychological Care Center in the Sauces district, converting a previously unused public space into a free mental‑health service hub. The center provides individual, couple and family therapy, as well as specialized care for children, adolescents, seniors, people with autism spectrum disorder and other disabilities. Additional services include psychopedagogical support, vocational guidance, preventive activities and community‑working programs.

Director Daniel Ignacio Sánchez Castro noted that appointments had been scheduled before the official opening, reflecting strong local demand. Center manager Ana Lara González said the facility will reduce travel distances for residents seeking professional psychological help. The municipal government highlighted the project as part of a broader effort to recover public spaces for community benefit.
