Toluca officials to challenge judicial suspension of warehouse project
The municipal government of Toluca, led by Mayor Ricardo Moreno Bastida, announced plans to appeal a federal court's definitive suspension regarding the construction of industrial warehouses in the Independencia neighborhood. The administration intends to file a complaint with the Judicial Discipline Tribunal, alleging that the presiding judge exceeded their jurisdiction by intervening in a matter already being handled by other courts.
Mayor Moreno clarified that the judicial suspension does not constitute a cancellation of the project nor a general order to halt all construction activities. Instead, he described the measure as a directive for authorities to verify compliance with existing construction licenses and land-use regulations. The municipality maintains that the land-use change process was completed prior to the issuance of construction permits.
