Toluca prepares for Independence Day celebrations
The city of Toluca, Estado de México, is preparing for Independence Day celebrations with various commemorative activities.
As part of the festivities, the Grupo Relámpagos aviation group will conduct a helicopter flyover on September 16. This marks the group's sixth participation in the Independence Day parade. The operation involves rigorous maintenance, pre-flight checks, and coordination to meet Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) safety standards. Under the administration of Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, the group has completed over 2,200 operations, including aeromedical transfers, forest fire fighting, and search and rescue missions.
Additionally, the municipality has installed 189 luminous and decorative pieces across major plazas, bridges, and avenues to celebrate the patriotic month. Decorations include a monumental National Shield, tricolor lights, and figures representing national heroes, located in areas such as Plaza de los Mártires and Paseo Colón.
